FAQs about Donations

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about financial support.

Why do you need to raise support? Why doesn’t RVA pay their teachers?
Missionaries are often living in locations where there is not a schooling option for their children and international schools are often not a financially viable option for them. Rift Valley Academy serves missionary families by providing an excellent school that they can afford because the faculty and staff at RVA are themselves missionaries who draw no salary from the school. By supporting the faculty and staff at RVA, you are supporting families in over 80 different mission agencies who, since they have an affordable schooling option for their children, can stay in the field where the Lord has called them.

In addition, we receive no financial benefit from Kenya Kids Can (salary or otherwise).  95% of all funds donated goes directly to the project and 5% goes to the main office of Africa Inland Mission for the services they provide (like handling all of the receipting of donors).

What if I don't want to donate online?
You can either donate online or you can donate by check.  Make the check out to "Africa Inland Mission" and mail to:
    Africa Inland Mission
    P.O. Box 3611
    Peachtree City, GA 30269
*Please make checks payable to Africa Inland Mission and include a note (in the envelope but not on the check) saying “for Mark and Sheri Daubenmier" or "for Kenya Kids Can" so they can direct your donation to the proper place.

How much should I give?
We don't know, but we can share that every supporter, no matter what the level, is significant to us.  Remember that all gifts in the hands of the Lord are significant for He is the one who can feed 5,000 with five loaves and two fish.

Who determines how much you receive for your personal support?
AIM sets the amount that we need in order to live on the field.  If in any month more contributions are made than our set amount, AIM sets it aside for us to be used in a month where the contributions are less than the set amount.
